About me
I undertook my medical degree at Deakin University, completing studies and clinical training in rural Victoria before working as a general hospital doctor in Bendigo prior to starting specialist training. I went onto complete a Master’s degree in Psychiatry at The University of Melbourne during this time, and competed my specialist training (FRANZCP) in Geelong, including a secondment as a senior medical registrar as part of advanced training in the psychiatry of old age. Throughout this role I gained significant expertise in acute care medicine, neuropsychiatry and dementia in addition to my general psychiatric work.
My research and clinical interests encompass a variety of areas and include expertise in old age psychiatry, neurology, dementia, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD, nutrition and eating disorders.
Along side my psychiatry practice, I also practice regularly as a pre-hospital Doctor with St John Ambulance, providing emergency/acute medical support at major state and national level events. I enjoy staying up-to-date and competent with emergency care and general medicine.
I am continually updating my knowledge and skills, and also enjoy staying on top of many exciting research developments. Having always lived in in the country, I am delighted to be able to contribute to the health of our rural, regional and remote towns across Australia.
